Revisiting Shapeless
Okay, first off, update. Editing Witch Trial, on Chapter 27 now. Then it’s the Epilogue, and the novel is finished. After beta, it’s release time. 🙂
This past weekend, I re-read Shapeless, my last novel. I don’t typically re-read my own work. I end up critiquing more than enjoying. “I should have used this phrase here, or change that word there.” That type of thing. My standalone novels don’t get as much attention as Damned and Cursed, but that novel is still pretty good. 🙂 I didn’t talk much about it after release, as I jumped right into Witch Trial. But Shapeless has some fun characters, neat powers, with a different slant than most of my stuff. I loved being behind the eyes of a guy who thinks he’s an alien, but not sure. 🙂
Some trivia, I’m similar to Brady when it comes to conspiracy theories. 🙂 I didn’t have to do much research there. I’m into all that stuff. Not saying I think aliens built the pyramids, but it still fascinates me.
On a boring afternoon, check out Shapeless. It’s a pretty fast read, things fly fast in that novel.

Really enjoyed Shapeless. You have good material for a sequel there.

I also enjoyed Shapeless as well as your other standalone novels. I thought it had great characters, and of course the very original story. Good overall feel. You may have made too big of an ending to make it easy for a follow up, though I am sure you have some magic up your sleeve.
Hope I can get a shot at the next beta!

Indeed. As with most of my standalones, I didn’t really think “keep it open for a sequel” when I wrote it. Aliens coming to visit kind of changes everything.
But you never know. 🙂 That’s why part of me wishes I went with my original idea, of making Brad y a “hire” of Demons, LLC. But I also couldn’t quite figure out to weave a world of shapeshifting into Damned and Cursed.
So, aliens. 🙂

Shapeless was a really entertaining read. The character development was fun and I really enjoyed the interactions between them. I do wish you would leave the door open to bringing this into the D&C universe eventually. I can see some good stuff happening there.

I really enjoyed reading shapeless. The characters were interesting and he got to smack around an abusive father. I just went through and reread it yesterday. Found myself being jealous of the abilities becoming anything you can think up is an awesome idea. Hopefully we get a sequel from you. Always looking foward to your next work thanks glenn.
