Four Centuries, Where We At?
Wow, done.
š
I can safely say this is the fastest I’ve ever pounded out a novel. I’m not sure what that means. Hopefully that’s a good omen. 100K words, on the nose. Act III was a blur. It felt fast paced, which I hope it reads that way as well. Very, very fun to write, considering I’ve been “scared” to tackle a Victoria novel. The series has revolved around her for a good chunk, even when she’s not front and center. I’m hoping people enjoy the novel. As is tradition, I’ll wait a week or so and then go about editing. Then after that the ever-so-famous beta reading.
Random thoughts:
I may have to change the “hook” text a bit. I wouldn’t describe what happens in the novel as a “plague”, so I may reword that. This novel, strangely enough, is the first novel I’ve ever written with so little romance in it. I wonder how audiences will take that?
Zoey turned out to have a larger role in the story than I thought, which I think is good in the end. One of the things I like writing about Victoria is her interactions with others. She’s older, wiser, and has a different perspective on everything. Watching a four-hundred-year-old vampire interact with an eighteen-year-old “newborn” was fun.

Hard to say. The longest and most important part is the beta process, and I try to give them as much time as they need. People will tell me what works, what doesn’t, all that funness.

Hey Glen:
Thanks for the update. Really looking forward to the book and learning more about Victoria and the direction she’s moving in. Hope for a tidbit or two from/on Jack. I’ve read all of your books and am sure this won’t disappoint.

I’m sure the lack of romance is more than made up for with great interplay between the newborn and Victoria. Can’t wait, I’m interested in proofing the beta if you need help!

Jack? Please let Jack be in it.
Every book should have Jack. And now Marie, loved them taking down the Hunters.

I want to bring Marie in for a novel, maybe have her mix with some of the others. I kind of wanted to do a Victoria / Marie novel (vampire / werewolf). But to be honest, my brain is a little dry right now after this last one. š

When beta is ready to go, I’ll put up another little post. I try to go through these comments for those that have already requested, but I know I’ve forgotten some in the past. I’ll try not to do that this time. š

Does this mean at last we have a Victoria-centric novel, Glenn? I have long referred to the series as Victoria’s Friends, but have been wanting more of Victoria herself. Cannot wait to read Four Centuries!

Indeed. š Definitely been a wait for this one. This is Victoria’s novel. There are other characters, other points of view. Zoey Gallner (first introduced in Demons LLC) plays a big part, but all in all, this is all about Victoria.

I’ve been waiting for a Victoria novel…as she is the straw that stirs the drink, as far as I’m concerned. Beta reader this time š

You know when I get quiet around release time, that’s normally a good thing. š
It’s in beta now, and I’ve already received great feedback. Made quite a bit of corrections, tidying things up. I have a feeling it’ll be soon, which is very rare for me to get out two full length 100K novels in one year. Probably will never happen again.

Can’t wait for the new book! Wasn’t expecting it for several months and just found out about it. General question, will we be seeing more of Marie? I think she would be an excellent regular edition to the group.
Also, anyone going crazy waiting for the new book, check Glenn’s stand alones. They are all excellent! Keep up the great work Glenn!

Definitely not done with Marie yet. š
A little trivia. Some characters I introduce with the hope of them becoming more, and sometimes that fizzles out. Example, Lisa Nash (police officer from Demons LLC), I thought would have a much larger role. Same thing applies to Jake Bachner (Demonspawn).
Marie, however, turned out exactly like I’d planned/hoped. š I felt she was a great compliment to Jack, and she has great potential with more stories.
