Dead Living Is Alive One More Time
I’ve been waiting nearly a year to make this post.
Dead Living is back on the shelves. Permuted Press has taken it under its wing and given it a fresh coat of paint. New cover, new editing, new marketing, same zombie goodness. It is now available in paperback and Kindle format, with an Audible version coming soon (here we are at Barnes and Noble). Give it a read and let me know if you enjoy following the journey of Aaron and Samantha.
It didnβt take long for the world to die. The dead rose with no explanation and only one purpose . . . to eat living flesh.
Born on the day everything died, the world of the living dead is the only world that Aaron knows. Kept in relative isolation from the walking corpses, his family teaches him how to read and write, how to survive on his own. After a tragedy hits close to home, he discovers he is different than any human left alive.
The undead want nothing to do with him.
The survivors of the old suburb of Lexington call a high school their home. They survive day to day, without any of the luxuries mankind used to enjoy, and surrounded by the living dead. Samantha is a product of the new world. Alone, cold, looking out only for herself. She and the other residents of Lexington feel their hope dwindling. They need change. They need someone who isnβt afraid of the walking corpses. They need someone who would rather live in a city of the dead.
They need Aaron.

Hey Glenn! Finished it on Monday, 2 whole days after I bought it.
I can see why the new publisher wanted to snatch it up. Fantastic work!
As always the world was expertly crafted, the characters were relatable, and it had just the right amount of tension.
But as I got to the end, A strange thought kept creeping up in my mind and I had to keep asking myself one question. When is he going to write a sequel to this?
I wanted more, and didn’t want it to be over.
Thanks again for some awesome entertainment! It was worth every penny.

Awesome! π I’m glad you liked it. I’m hoping readers like Aaron and Sam enough to want a sequel.

I’m huge fan of almost anything to do with zombies and this book blow me away. I loved it so much I that also read A Witch To Live and I have to say you have a new fan, love the uniqueness you bring to your stories. Thinking of reading Jack next but I’m sure I’ll read all your work from here on out so keep up the good work π

Thank you. π I definitely tried to bring something a little different to a zombie novel. I’m glad you liked it.
If you liked A Witch To Live, I think you’ll like Jack Kursed. They’re loosely related, and you’re in for a few surprises.

Yup Jack Kursed is my new favorite book now and I heard you might be coming out with a 4th book in the series with all your past characters in it, Iβm not going to lie that sounds like itβs going to be a really awesome book.
Also can’t wait on Soul Insurance with the little bit you put out for us to read I’m hooked π
Glad I came across your books on amazon and I will be recommending them to my friends.

The book you’re referring to is tentatively titled “Demon’s Doorway” and I’m actually nearly finished it. You can check out a small three-chapter sample in the Samples section. I think it’s turning out pretty well, the characters mesh in fun ways.

I purchased this book a long time ago on kindle, and I loved it. I’m wondering if there is a way that I can be issued the updated version? Or do I have to purchase it again to get the updated kindle features. I still have it on my kindle for now, but I’m concerned I will lose it if I change devices and have to re-download my entire library.

I’m a techhead, and this is a good question. π I know that if I update a book, for example, A Witch To Live, after people buy it, they can download any updated copies I put out, like typo corrections, etc.
However, Dead Living is a different sort of beast. I guess technically it’s considered a whole new book. New ISBN number, publisher, that type of stuff. Let me email Amazon and see what they say.

Okay, update:
You can log into Amazon, and go to the section that says “Manage My Kindle”. If a book has an update, a little “Update” button will appear by the book.
Now, I also have the old Dead Living on my Kindle, and there was no update button π
However π
I grabbed a spare laptop, and installed Kindle for PC on it. My library was there, all in tact, including Dead Living (the original one).
So, if you have to change devices for whatever reason, I don’t think you’ll lose Dead Living.
