Just finished editing Demonspawn…again
Out of my two novels, Demonspawn is not doing as well as Dead Living. It’s always fun to figure out why. Are zombie novels just that hot right now? Am I doing something basically wrong with Demonspawn? I like Demonspawn. It has a nice mix of supernatural elements and romance, something else I thought was hot right now.
I do know that I did a major mistake in the initial editing of Demonspawn. I thought I could edit it myself. I will definitely recommend to any indie authors that they get as many eyes on their novel as possible before publishing.
Demonspawn has been getting good-to-great reviews, but many have agreed the editing could have been better. So, I got some more eyes, and gave it one more read through myself. This last editing go-round went very well, because I found I actually forgot the novel. π Β More mistakes jumped out at me this time around, and the process went much better.
So, in short, two lessons. Wait a while between edits, and get as many eyes as you can.

I very much enjoyed the adventures of Alex, the half-demon with a heart of gold, and his band of wonderful friends. Thank you for creating such a fiercely loyal, caring and loving best friend in Cindy; once I finished reading “Demonspawn,” I had to immediately read it again because I wanted to experence the love between Alex and Cindy once more. Hopefully, you will revisit these characters one day – you have a gift for writing terrific stories populated with people that you wish were your friends. (I enjoyed “Dead Living” too – and that book definitely deserves a sequel!)

You definitely need to write a sequel to Demonspawn. Is Alex ever more tempted by the demons? How do he and Cindy work after a while? There’s so much more!

Thanks for the comment. π I’m actually working on a novel now (about 50K in, cruising along) that takes places in the Demonspawn world, and has mentions of characters from that novel. The vampire Victoria once again has a supporting role. I’ve taken a break from it to do the editing on Mind Slide, but will be getting back to it soon.
I’m glad you liked Demonspawn. π

Demonspawn was amazing sir. I couldn’t get enough of Alex and Cindy. When I saw that a witch to live wasn’t a direct sequel to it I was so sad. So hopefully that sequel come’s out soon. They are all amazing novels so keep doing what you’re doing !

If you want to get more of the Demonspawn universe, check out A Witch to Live. It takes place in the same world, follows a new set of characters, but does have a few surprises that will hopefully please fans of Demonspawn. π
